The District Govenor of Rotary, Roy Beekman, and Rotary of Big Sky members will attend a thank you dedication of the new Crail Ranch support structure on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 5:00 pm. The Rotary of Big Sky donated $12,000 toward the purchase of the support structure with funds raised from the 2014 Golf Auction.

“The Rotary Club of Big Sky had worked with the BSCC (Big Sky Community Corporation) on the Community Park Climbing Boulders and improvements to Kircher Park.  This extension was a natural fit, and the Homestead Museum project fit with our goal of community improvement,” Jeff Strickler, Rotary of Big Sky board member.

The original single room cabin that served as a home for the first several years for the Crail Ranch had of late, been used for storage of equipment and materials. A new support structure was needed in order to return cabin as part of the Crail Ranch historical homestead. The new support structure, designed and built by Frontier Rustic Designs of Norris, MT, was made to complement the existing historic buildings on the site.

“The Crail Ranch Homestead Museum is housed primarily in the unique log structures of the Historic Crail Ranch, some of the oldest original buildings in the Big Sky area preserving the story of the Crail family and their homestead in the verdant valley meadow that is now part of Big Sky, Montana,” as stated on the Crail Ranch website.
