Volunteer Opportunity: Join the Gallatin River Task Force for a day of willow planting
Date: Wednesday May 5th. 9-5pm
Location - Deer Creek fishing access site off of 191 in the canyon.
Willows anchor streambanks and filter runoff, while also providing shade for fish and habitat for wildlife. They provide a vital riparian buffer between native flora and the river. Volunteers will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty and their feet wet with this field-based restoration project. We plan on being out most of the day, so plan on bringing layers, rain gear, snacks, and plenty of water. Willow planting is hard work, so be prepared for some physical labor.
