EJ Porth
Gallatin Valley Land Trust

EJ joined GVLT as the Communications and Outreach Director in the spring of 2014. Her role at GVLT is chief story teller, connecting the community to the mission of GVLT through conversations about shared values and visions for the growing community's future. EJ manages the organization's external communications such as media, website, print materials, and social media. She also organizes programs and events for the community to learn about and explore conservation projects and community trails such as Discovery Walks, TrailsRx, Summer Trails Challenge, and Conservation Bus Tour. As a self-identified millennial, EJ saw an opportunity to engage the next generation of conservation leaders and spearheaded the creation of GVLT's NextGen Advisory Board, a group of young professionals who share the mission of trails and conservation with their peers. EJ worked extensively on the 2018 campaign to renew funding to the Gallatin County Open Lands Program. Prior to GVLT, she spent her previous 5 years in Bozeman as the Development Coordinator for HAVEN, the local domestic violence shelter, Marketing Director at Buffalo Restoration, and Program Director at the Bozeman Youth Initiative. She moved to Montana from Chicago where she attended Northwestern University and received a B.A. in Sociology. Originally from Minneapolis, MN, EJ enjoys the cold and enjoys skiing and exploring the last best place with her husband Pat and faithful friends, Zima and Oreo. EJ volunteers with a number of organizations such as a Women Who Wine, a women's giving circle, Leadership Montana, American Marketing Association MSU Chapter, Verge Theater and the Bozeman Area Community Foundation.
